The ONFJ MB 3 railcar was procured from Odense – Nørre Broby – Faaborg Jernbane (ONFJ) for operation on the Danish private railway line Odense – Nørre Broby – Faaborg , which opened in 1906 .

history

For passenger transport on the route between Odense and Faaborg via Nørre Broby , the company acquired a four-axle railcar with two bogies in 1927 to save on locomotive-driven trains . The supplier was the Danish locomotive factory Scandia A / S in Randers . The vehicle had the serial number 2144 and was delivered in May 1927.

Technical Equipment

The railcar had a gasoline engine and a mechanical four-speed gearbox. It was equipped with an air brake. During the Second World War from 1941 to 1945 he received a gas generator . In 1946 the vehicle was parked with a broken crankshaft .

The management on this route had been the Sydfyenske Jernbaneselskab (SFJ), which was responsible for the vehicle maintenance and the use of the vehicles.

With the takeover of Sydfyenske Jernbaner on April 1, 1949 by Danske Statsbaner (DSB), the ONFJ vehicles were transferred to the state railways for use. However, the railcar remained in the possession of the ONFJ and did not become the property of the state railways. He received the series designation MBF (I) and the road number 483.

It was modernized at Scandia in 1949. He was then deployed from Fåborg until 1953.

NFJ MH 8

In 1957 it was sold for 10,500 kroner to Nordfynske Jernbane to operate the Odense – Otterup – Bogense line . There he received the designation NFJ MH 8 .

He received a six-cylinder Hercules diesel engine, which was replaced in 1964 by an eight-cylinder diesel engine with 160 hp from Frichs .

The decommissioning took place in 1966, the following year the vehicle was scrapped.
