The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is the professional association of civil engineers in the United States . The association is the oldest US engineering association.
history
The association was founded in 1852 by twelve engineers in the offices of the Croton Aqueduct as the American Society of Civil Engineers and Architects . ASCE is based in Reston, Virginia . According to its own statements, the association has more than 150,000 members in 177 countries.
