The Oakland Arena is a multi-purpose arena in the US city ​​of Oakland in the state of California .

history

Since opening in 1966, the arena has hosted the home games of the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) , with brief interruptions . Today's RingCentral Coliseum was built in the immediate vicinity of what was then the Oakland Coliseum Arena . The Oakland Arena has 19,596 seats for basketball games and 17,200 seats for ice hockey games. The largest number of spectators was reached with 20,679 in the fourth semifinal game of the Western Conference on May 13, 2007, which the Warriors lost 101: 115 against the Utah Jazz . In addition to being used as a sports facility, the arena is also used for concerts . So were, among others, Aerosmith , Bruce Springsteen , Judas Priest , Madonna , Nirvana , Pink Floyd , Prince , The Rolling Stones and U2 on here.

With the opening of the Chase Center (18,064 seats) on September 6, 2019, the Warriors will use the modern arena in San Francisco . They will play their first game there on October 5th in the preseason against the Los Angeles Lakers . On April 8, 2019, the Golden State Warriors played their last game of the regular season in the old venue. The home side clearly defeated the Los Angeles Clippers with 131: 104. The last 332 games in the Oracle Arena were sold out. The play-off games follow. After 47 seasons in Oakland, the Warriors will return to San Francisco for the new season.

After the sponsorship contract expired , the hall has been renamed Oakland Arena again since the beginning of September 2019 .
