Ober-Wöllstadt is one of the two districts of the municipality of Wöllstadt in the Wetterau district of Hesse .
geography
Ober-Wöllstadt lies between Taunus , Vogelsberg , Main - and Lahntal in the southern district. The federal highway 3 runs through the village .
history
Ober-Wöllstadt was first mentioned in a document in 790.
Already in 1050 there is a church in town. Today the Catholic St. Stephen's Church stands here. It was built in 1752.
On August 1, 1972 at the course of were municipal reform in Hesse , the previously independent communities of Nieder-Wöllstadt and Ober-Wöllstadt powerful state law the new municipality Woellstadt together .
