Upper Filstal municipality Gruibingen is a landscape protection area (protection area number 1.17.066) in the district of Göppingen .
Location and description
The protected area was created by ordinance of the Göppingen district office of February 8, 1984. When this ordinance came into force, the ordinance of the Württemberg Ministry of Culture for the protection of landscape elements and parts of the landscape along the Reichsautobahn Stuttgart-Munich in the districts of Esslingen, Nürtingen, Göppingen and Ulm came into effect from 12. August 1940, the ordinance of the Göppingen District Office for the protection of summer sheep pastures as part of the landscape of June 27, 1939 and the Göppingen District Office's ordinance on the Kornberg and Sielenwang landscape protection area to the lower Rufstein near Gruibingen and Auendorf of March 12, 1968 in so far as they concern the area of the community Gruibingen.
It consists of three sub-areas and covers the entire area of the municipality of Gruibingen. Exceptions are the location with areas for structural development and a few other peripheral areas, the sports center, the campsite in Winkelbachtal, the planned allotment garden area Bruckal and the commercial area on the boundary to Mühlhausen im Täle with expansion areas. The area belongs to the natural area 094 - Middle Kuppenalb within the natural spatial main unit 09 - Swabian Alb . Parts of the landscape protection area are in the FFH area 7423-342 Filsalb and in the bird sanctuary 7422-441 Middle Swabian Alb . Several landscape protection areas border around it. The nature reserves 1074- Heide am Hillenwang , 1261- Rufstein slopes and surroundings and 1262- Kornberg are enclosed by the landscape protection area.
Protection purpose
According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the alpine landscape around Gruibingen, which is richly structured in terms of height and which is characterized by the alternation of forests, field and brook trees, hedges, heather areas as well as arable and meadow areas used for agriculture and unites with their floristic diversity represents high ecological value. The particularly high recreational value for the general public should also be secured.
