Characteristics
As early as August 9, 1937, a collective ordinance issued by the Geislingen District Office created a landscape protection area that included the Hauserner Wand, among other things. The nature reserve was created by ordinance of the then regional council of North Württemberg on November 8, 1971. This ordinance was published in the Law Gazette for Baden-Württemberg on June 23, 1972 and then came into force. The CDDA code of the nature reserve is 81839 and corresponds to the WDPA ID . The ordinance of the Geislingen district office of 1937 ceased to be in force insofar as it concerned the area of the NSG. The landscape protection area still exists on smaller remaining areas of 16 hectares.
location
The protected areas are between Bad Überkingen and its district of Hausen . They belong to the FFH area No. 7423-342 Filsalb as well as to the bird sanctuary No. 7422-441 Middle Swabian Alb . They belong to the natural areas 094- Middle Kuppenalb and 101- Middle Alb foreland within the natural spatial main units 09- Swabian Alb and 10- Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose of the nature reserve is the preservation and protection of the complex and unique landscape section of a historical landslide, which is of outstanding geological and scientific importance. The protection also applies to the rock biotopes with typical rock vegetation and the fauna adapted to them and the natural limestone-beech, oak-hornbeam and steppe heather-oak forests with adjoining heat-loving fringes as well as the juniper heaths, the lean meadows and orchards, the wet meadows and the hedges and trees at the foot of the slope. The main protection purpose of the landscape protection area is to secure ecologically necessary supplementary areas for the nature reserve.
