The Northern Alb slopes: Ottenwang-Ungerhalde-Sommerberg is a nature reserve (NSG number 1.113) designated by ordinance of March 29, 1983 of the Stuttgart Regional Council in the area of ​​the municipality of Deggingen in the Göppingen district of Baden-Württemberg .

location

The 95.0 hectare (ha) nature reserve is located north of Deggingen. It belongs to the natural area 94 Mittlere Kuppenalb of the natural spatial main unit 09 - Swabian Alb and is part of the 5,430 hectare FFH area No. 7423342 Filsalb and the 39,597.3 hectare bird sanctuary 7422441 Middle Swabian Alb .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of a particularly diverse community, which contains wet areas with reed beds, tuff formations, limestone grasslands (heather) with junipers, steppe heather forest, ravine forest and diverse rock formations with different animal and plant communities, in some cases even endangered species.
