Rohrachtal is a nature reserve in the area of ​​the Baden-Württemberg city ​​of Geislingen an der Steige in the district of Göppingen .

Characteristics

The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance of the Stuttgart regional council of November 24, 1982 and has a size of 12.8 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 1.105. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 82432 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The protected area is located south of Geislingen an der Steige directly adjacent to the village in the Rohrachtal and extends from the fish farm to the mold mill. The railway line and the B 10 separate the area from the 1,331 hectare nature reserve Eybtal with parts of the Längen- and Rohrachtal valley . It is completely in the 5,430 hectare FFH area No. 7423-342 Filsalb and also in the bird sanctuary (SPA area) Middle Swabian Alb , which is 39,597 hectares.

The NSG Rohrachtal is located in the natural area 094- Middle Kuppenalb within the natural spatial main unit 09- Swabian Alb .

Protection purpose

It is a valley floodplain through which the Rohrach river and in the heavily swampy core area the Tierbach flows and which has larger, permanent shallow water areas all year round. The protection purpose is the preservation of a nationally significant wetland with a rare flora and fauna. Particularly noteworthy is the ornithological value of the area.
