Felahiye is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Kayseri . Since a regional reform in 2014, the municipality ( Belediye ) is congruent with the district (İlçe). All previous villages ( köy ) are now districts ( Mahalle ) of the municipality. The city is located about 40 kilometers north of the provincial capital Kayseri . The original name was Rumdigin. The Armenian interpretation "Hrom-digin" (Greek lady) is probably a folk etymology.
The district is in the north of the province. It borders on Özvatan to the east, Kocasinan to the south and Yozgat province to the north . Country roads connect the city in the west with Boğazlıyan in Yozgat Province, in the east with Özvatan and in the southeast with the D-260 highway from Kayseri to Sivas . In the south of the district is the mountain Başhöyük Tepesi with 1698 meters. In the southeast, the border with Kocasinan follows the Kızılırmak river , which is dammed up there to the Yamula Barajı . The small Kepiç Göleti reservoir is located about five kilometers northwest of the district town .
Five kilometers west of Felahiye is a Roman house grave near the village of Kepiç.
