Develi ( Armenian Averag ) is a county seat and a district in the province of Kayseri in Turkey . In 2010 the city had 36,708 and the district 64,836 inhabitants. There are 4 communities and 45 villages in the district .
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1254 as Dâvâlı . The present-day place Deverek emerged from the union of the places Develi , Everek and Feneze and was declared a district in 1860 and is located 1330 m above sea level in the south of the province and borders the Adana province .
The Hittite rock reliefs of Taşçı and Fıraktın are in the Develi district .
