Kutschenberg-Heuschlaufenberg-Stürzelberg is a designated nature reserve with the number 1,281 by ordinance of the Stuttgart Regional Council of December 15, 2017 .

location

The nature reserve is located in the Albuch and Härtsfeld nature reserves and is on the western outskirts of Söhnstetten . The protected area is part of FFH area No. 7325-341 Steinheim Basin . The B 466 divides the NSG into two parts.

Protection purpose

According to the Protection Area Ordinance, the protection purposes are:

  • the preservation, restoration and development of the complex vegetation mosaics of the Heuschlaufenbergs, the Kutschenbergs, the Eseltal, the Ulmer Tal and the Stürzelberg, which were created through historical agricultural use in the form of pasture and mowing;
  • the preservation and development of juniper heaths, limestone grasslands, lean lowland hay meadows and beech forests rich in old wood as habitats for a large number of partly endangered plant and animal species;
  • the preservation and development of the richness of the site, which is caused by the small-scale alternation of rock formations, rubble heaps and different soil conditions.

Flora and fauna

The following plant species can be found in the area: Bastard lady's mantle , common cat's paw , Färber-Meier , Alpen-Pippau , common fringed gentian , German fringed gentian, spring gentian , pasque flower , awning rattling pot and nodular saxifrage . The species of butterflies lesser ox-eye , chessboard and quail wheat piebald butterflies as well as the bat species piped bat and rough -skin bat were observed .
