The nature reserve Zwing is located in the area of the communities Dischingen and Nattheim in the district of Heidenheim and the town of Neresheim in the Ostalb district in Baden-Württemberg . The area extends south of the core city of Neresheim. Not far to the east, the Egau , a left tributary of the Danube, flows along the state road L 2033.

For Dischingen, Nattheim and Neresheim, a 102.0 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number 1.188 since October 26, 1992 . It is about "coherent, large-scale juniper heaths and limestone meadows , near-natural limestone beech forests , steppe heaths and fringes alternating with the open landscape."
