Brünneleswiesen is a nature reserve in the area of ​​the Baden-Württemberg town of Heidenheim an der Brenz and the municipality of Königsbronn .

Characteristics

The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Stuttgart Regional Council of October 6, 2006 and has a size of 63.8 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 1.258. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 378062 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

Location and description

The protected area is located in the Brenz floodplain between the Itzelberg district of the Königsbronn municipality and the Aufhausen district of the city of Heidenheim.

It is located in the natural area 096- Albuch and Härtsfeld within the natural spatial main unit 09- Swabian Alb and is enveloped by the supplementary landscape protection area 1.35.081 Brenztalaue near the Brünneleskopf . Both the FFH area no. 7226-311 heaths and forests between Aalen and Heidenheim and the bird sanctuary no. 7226-441 Albuch (bird sanctuary) border the nature reserve.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is in accordance with the Protection Area Ordinance

  • the safeguarding and maintenance of the partly wet Brenz valley floodplain, which is mainly used as permanent grassland, on mainly organic soils and partly bog soils
  • the safeguarding and preservation of the characteristic landscape elements and the landscape with picturesque, diversely shaped and fringed by tall perennials, reeds and woody trees, fire arms and other small moats within the permanent grassland, both in terms of their scenic and ecological importance as natural habitats for plants and plants Animal species;
  • the natural development of the communities in and on the Brenz with a special focus on the protection and development of herbaceous, higher aquatic plant species and the river bank vegetation to increase the self-cleaning power of the Brenz, the oxygen input through photosynthesis of the aquatic plants and their positive effects to limit algae growth as natural antagonist and regulator as well as a habitat for microorganisms, invertebrate species, the structures of the cover, the shelter and the spawning and resting places for fish species threatened with extinction;
  • the exclusion of all leisure activities on the waterways, the permanent grassland of the valley floodplain, as well as entering outside of the normal agricultural uses and entering outside the public roads;
  • the sustainable resting and resting function for water-bound bird species on and around the Brenz in autumn and winter with precautionary security for the loss of other valley sections and habitats in the Upper Brenz Valley as a result of the land-use planning
