Bullenberg-Dudelberg-Stockhau is a nature reserve designated by the Stuttgart Regional Council of December 15, 2017 with the number 1,280.

location

The nature reserve is located in the Albuch and Härtsfeld natural areas and is around 1000 meters east of Söhnstetten . The protected area is part of FFH area No. 7325-341 Steinheim Basin . The B 466 , a quarry and an access road separate the NSG into four areas.

Protection purpose

According to the Protection Area Ordinance, the protection purposes are:

  • the preservation, restoration and development of the complex vegetation mosaic of the Bullenberg, the Dudelberg, the Stubental and the Stockhau, created through historical agricultural use in the form of pasture and mowing;
  • the preservation and development of juniper heaths, limestone grasslands, lean lowland hay meadows and beech forests rich in old wood as habitats for a variety of sometimes rare and endangered plant and animal species;
  • the preservation and development of the wealth of locations.

Flora and fauna

The endangered plant species spring gentian , sparrow's tongue , common cat's paw and real moon rue are found in the area. Among the butterfly species, the red-brown meadow bird and the Esparsette ram must be mentioned. The endangered species of the red-winged snarrhatch and Bechstein's bat can be found in the area.
