Upper Filstal community Mühlhausen im Täle is a landscape protection area (protected area number 1.17.065) in the district of Göppingen .
Location and description
The protected area was created by ordinance of the Göppingen district office of June 28, 1983. When this ordinance came into force, the ordinance of the Württemberg Ministry of Culture for the protection of landscape elements and parts of the landscape along the Reichsautobahn Stuttgart-Munich in the districts of Esslingen, Nürtingen, Göppingen and Ulm came into effect from 12. August 1940 and the ordinance of the district office of Göppingen for the protection of summer sheep pastures as part of the landscape of June 27, 1939 ineffective insofar as they affected the area of the community of Mühlhausen im Täle.
The landscape protection area consists of two sub-areas. It covers the entire area of the municipality of Mühlhausen, with the exception of the locality of Mühlhausen and the Eselhof municipality. The vast majority with around 440 hectares is located southwest between Mühlhausen and Wiesensteig. It belongs to the natural area 094- Middle Kuppenalb within the natural spatial main unit 09- Swabian Alb . Parts of the landscape protection area are in the FFH area 7423-342 Filsalb and in the bird sanctuary 7422-441 Middle Swabian Alb . Several landscape protection areas border around it.
Protection purpose
According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the diversity, character and beauty of the high-altitude, richly structured Alb landscape around Mühlhausen im Täle, which is characterized by the alternation of forests, field and brook trees, hedges, heather areas as well as arable and meadow areas used for agriculture and with their floristic diversity represents a high ecological value. The particularly high recreational value for the general public should also be secured.
