Oberkirnach is a district of St. Georgen in the Black Forest in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in Baden-Württemberg .

history
Oberkirnach was first settled in 1084. The development of Oberkirnach was closely related to the development of the monastery. On February 1, 1974, Oberkirnach was incorporated into the town of St. Georgen in the Black Forest. Today all of St. Georgens ski lifts are located in the Oberkirnach district, which is why Oberkirnach is the most important winter sports center in St. Georgen. In addition to the people of St. Georgen, many tourists also visit the ski slopes.
