The Oberst location (also " Am Oberst ") is located in the Lüntenbeck residential area of Wuppertal in the Vohwinkel district on the border with the Elberfeld-West district . It is located south of Saurenhaus and east of Lüntenbeck Castle .
history
Hof Oberst was first mentioned in 1677 in a survey of the Sonnborn community. It belonged to the Lüntenbeck estate until the 19th century and in 1830 it had an area equivalent to eight hectares .
The place is recorded as a. Obersten on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824. Colonel lay in the municipality of Sonnborn , which was split off from the mayor's office in Haan in 1867 , and which was renamed the municipality of Vohwinkel in 1888 when territory was ceded to the city of Elberfeld . According to the community encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Prussia from 1888, Colonel owned a house and eleven residents.
When Wuppertal was founded in 1929, Oberst was accepted into the city as part of Vohwinkel.
A cul-de-sac with the name Am Oberst was named on February 24, 1936.
