Oceania is an album by The Smashing Pumpkins . It was released in 2012 as part of the 44-song project Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, which has been running since 2009 .

background

With the album, Billy Corgan turned away from the form of publication of the downloads and back to that of an album, from which he had previously withdrawn because it was no longer up to date. Corgan referred to Oceania as an "album within an album".

reception

Jakob Biazza wrote in Focus magazine that it was a "gigantic" album that would finally bring rock "the contemporary feel". He awarded nine out of ten stars. Sven Kabelitz from Laut.de described the album as "the best Pumpkins album since Adore ". Above all, he praised the fact that instead of “workforce fulfilling orders” a “functioning band” could be heard. The editorial rating was four out of five stars.
