Small towns Romrod

The Ocherbach is a body of water in the central Hessian town of Romrod and is part of the Fulda river system .

course

The source lies between the Romroder districts of Ober- and Nieder-Breidenbach in the Haberkorneiche corridor . The stream first flows through the Buchholz pond nature reserve , then through agricultural land and flows into the mill pond on the southern outskirts of Romrod.

The situation, which has been changed by canalization and medieval mill moats, offers several possible locations for the original confluence with the Antrift river . It is probable that the brook first flowed into the Antrift river north of Romrod before the town was founded. In order to be able to operate the numerous mills in the local area, a water distribution system was created, it starts at the mill pond, here also a branch canal from the drift opens.
