Odd Bang-Hansen
Odd Bang-Hansen (born April 9, 1908 in Oslo ; † March 4, 1984 ) was a Norwegian writer , journalist , screenwriter and translator .
Life
The son of a pastor studied philology from 1926 to 1934 . From 1936 he worked as a teacher. From 1944 to 1945 he was a liaison officer in England . His first book was published in 1938, but he wrote most of his novels after the war. In 1946 the novel Ringen rundt brønnen was published , in which he deals with fascism . Bang-Hansen was also a translator and author of children's books. Among other things, he translated Astrid Lindgren's Mio, my Mio into Norwegian . He himself wrote the series Mette og Tom , which was awarded several prizes.
In 1965 he became chairman of the Norwegian Writers' Union . He held this post until 1971.
Two films with Bang-Hansen's participation were also shown in Germany: Schrift im Schnee in 1966 in the Federal Republic of Germany , Fridtjof Nansen on GDR television in 1971 . His sons Kjetil and Pål also worked on the first film .
