Text content

Bligg presents a wide repertoire of topics on his second album. Recurring elements in the songs include positive self-expression, battle rap and Bligg's views on hip-hop music. VIP and Sexy Mamy can be rated as party or club songs. With Odyssey and Räge , the sound carrier also contains thoughtful pieces. In addition, Bliggensdorfer presents personal titles: In Predicto the musician speaks to a not yet existing descendant. Angela is dedicated to his mother of the same name as a thank you.

production

Six producers were involved in the creation of the Odyssey album . These are Bligg's brother Samuel Bliggensdorfer, Yvan from the hip-hop group Double Pact , Dan Suter, Lexx, who is Bligg's former partner, and Dimos and DJ Cutmando, who produces most of the beats for Bligg. Sam B produced the songs Intro , VIP , Angela and Outro . Yvan is responsible for the beats of the tracks Odyssey , Gib nöd uf and King Size . Dan Suter produced with Sam B songs Intro , VIP and Angela . DJ Lexx took over the production of the pieces Bomdiggy , Wändwäischwasimäin , Predicto and Sexy Mamy . Du Chöntsch was produced by DJ Cutmando. Dimos provided the background music for Räge . Bligg was involved in the production of the songs Intro , Wändwäischwasimäin , VIP , Sexy Mamy and Angela , and produced the song Single .

Self-awareness

Bligg described his album as “an odyssey through the musical landscape and a mixture of entertainment and poetry.” The basis is rap, refined with elements from rock, pop and soul. In terms of content, the album is more personal than normal , which is mainly due to the two songs Predicto and Angela . The first of the two pieces is dedicated to his unborn baby, the second to his mother.

illustration

The cover shows Bligg with a white New Era cap and leather jacket against a black background. He raised his arms like a conductor . Red sparks spray from behind him. Plants grow to the left and right of the musician, from which microphones and CDs sprout as flowers. At the top of the picture you can see the large Bligg lettering at the time, and the album title at the bottom.

Odyssey Club

Parallel to the album, the Zurich rapper released an Extended Play (EP) on the music label Dialog Records as a vinyl record entitled Odyssey Club . This contains five of the pieces of music contained on the album and thus serves as a "smaller version" of the full album.
