The Off Road Kids Foundation is an aid organization for street children , runaways and young homeless people in Germany.

The foundation operates a nationwide, nationwide effective street work system with street work stations in Berlin , Dortmund , Hamburg , Cologne and Frankfurt am Main , as well as the national street work station sofahopper.de . The foundation also maintains a children's home, a parents' hotline and a practice for systemic counseling and therapy. The board of directors consists of up to 4 people, the advisory board of the foundation consists of up to 15 people.

The street social work is financed almost entirely by donations from private individuals, companies and foundations. Important sponsors and partners of the foundation are the Vodafone Foundation Germany , the Deutsche Bahn Foundation , the help and hope Foundation, the Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall , the Permira Beteiligungsberatung, " Germany rounds up ", the SKala initiative and the Red Nose Day (ProSieben) .

According to its own information, the foundation has succeeded more than 5,000 times since 1994 in providing former street children and young homeless people with sustainable prospects for life (as of May 2018).

Others

Together with the Vodafone Foundation Germany, the foundation initiated the study by the German Youth Institute "Decoupled from the System" (2015). The results of the study confirm the existence of hidden homelessness among young people and their decoupling from all support systems.

The aid organization has been operating Germany's first virtual street work station for teenagers and young adults since December 1, 2016. The aim of this platform is to protect decoupled adolescents and young adults nationwide from falling into homelessness and fleeing to big cities.

Awards

The Foundation has the initiative transparent civil society of Transparency International is connected and since 2013 with the Phineo certified "Works" seal.

The foundation was awarded the “Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prize” from the Swiss Jacobs Foundation .

In 2017, the foundation and the Bahn-BKK received the “ Springer Medizin Charity Award” for their health project “STREETWORK +”.
