Belwind (also Bligh Bank Phase I ) is an offshore wind farm in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Belgium in the southern North Sea . The nearby Nobelwind offshore wind farm was built as an extension . Belwind can mathematically supply 160,000 households.
The 56 wind turbines have a total installed capacity of 171 MW . Initially 55 Vestas V90-3MW turbines were installed.
In 2013, an Alstom Haliade 150-6 MW turbine was added to the park for test purposes. At the time of installation, this was the offshore wind turbine with the largest installed capacity and the largest rotor diameter. It was built on a jacket foundation. The total weight is 1,500 tons.
