List of power plants in Belgium

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The power plants in Belgium are shown both on a map and in tables (with key figures). The list is not complete.

Installed capacity and annual production

In 2016 was Belgium concerning. The installed capacity of 21.56  GW in place 41 and with respect. Annual production of 79.83 billion  kWh in place 37 in the world. The degree of electrification was 100% in 2016. Belgium was a net importer of electricity in 2016; it exported 8.465 billion kWh and imported 14.65 billion kWh.

The country has been importing electricity from neighboring countries for years, up to the load limit of the power lines. Belgium faced another possible blackout in the winter months of 2018/19. A direct high-voltage line using HVDC technology is to be completed between Belgium and Germany under the name ALEGrO by the end of 2020.
