Wind farms

At the end of 2013, wind power plants (WKA) with an installed capacity of 4,470 MW were in operation in Sweden ; Sweden was in 8th place in Europe. As of June 2017, 897 wind farms were recorded in Sweden (some of these are either individual wind farms or planned wind farms). According to The Wind Power , wind farms with a total output of 8,985 MW were in operation at the end of 2019, 191 MW of which was offshore.

List of individual examples, with particular reference to the large Markbygden project:

Name of the wind farm Inst. Power (MW) number status
Blaiken 250 100 in operation
Lillgrund 110 48 in operation
Markbygden - pilot phase - dragalids 24 12 in full operation since December 2010
Markbygden - pilot phase - Stor-Blåliden - 8th Start of construction in 2016
Markbygden - construction phase 1 / partial area 1 = first floor 183 77 under construction (as of June 2018)
Markbygden - construction phase 1 / area 2 = Skogberget 84 36 built (as of August 2018)
Markbygden - construction phase 1 / area 3 = Markbygden ETT 650 179 under construction (as of June 2018)
Markbygden - construction phase 2 1,300 440 Building approval December 2015
Markbygden - construction phase 3 1,800 442 Building approval March 2016

Note: The Markbygden project is marketed with the number 1101 . The number stands for the number of wind turbines, which can change somewhat with the construction of the project, but should exceed the number 1100.
