The power plants in Brazil are shown both on a map and in tables (with key figures). The list is not complete.

Installed capacity and annual production

In 2012, Brazil was 10th in the world for annual generation with 537.6  TWh and 11th in the world for installed capacity with 121.7  GW .

Caloric power plants

According to the Associação Brasileira de Distribuidores de Energia Elétrica (ABRADEE), the installed capacity of the caloric power plants in 2015 was 38,372 MW. Only power plants with an installed capacity> 300 MW are listed in the table.

Hydropower plants

According to ABRADEE, there are 201 hydropower plants in Brazil with an installed capacity > 30 MW, the total capacity of which in 2015 was 84,703 MW. There are also 476 hydropower plants with an output between 1 and 30 MW and 496 micro-hydropower plants with an output <1 MW. The table shows the 10 largest hydropower plants according to installed capacity.

Wind farms

According to The Wind Power , wind turbines with a total capacity of 12,763 MW were in operation, under construction or planned in Brazil at the end of 2017 . As of August 2018, 558 wind farms have been recorded in Brazil (some of them are either individual wind farms or planned wind farms).
