Installed capacity and annual production
In 2016, Egypt was 23rd in the world in terms of installed capacity with 45.12 GW and 22nd in terms of annual generation with 183.5 billion kWh . The degree of electrification was 99.6% in 2013 (100% in cities and 99.3% in rural areas).
The total installed capacity from renewable energies was given as 6 GW in May 2019, including around 2 GW from wind and solar and around 4 GW from hydropower.
