from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The power plants in Angola are shown both on a map and in tables (with key figures).

Installed capacity and annual production

In 2016, Angola was ranked 103rd in terms of installed capacity with 2.613 GW and ranked 102nd  in terms of annual generation with 10.2 billion kWh . The degree of electrification was 40.5% in 2016 (70.7% in cities and 16% in rural areas). Angola was self-sufficient in terms of power generation in 2016; it neither imported nor exported electricity.

In 2014 the installed capacity was 1,848 MW, of which 888 MW in thermal power plants and 960 MW in hydropower plants . In 2016, Angola generated 10 billion kWh of electrical energy, mainly from hydropower and fossil fuels.
