List of power plants in East Timor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list includes power plants in East Timor .

Overview

The list is not complete. In addition to the large power plants operated by the Electricidade de Timor-Leste (EDTL), the electricity supply to East Timor is provided by small, local diesel generators and small power plants, which are not listed here. There are projects with biogas plants operated by village cooperatives, for example in Loi-Huno (Viqueque) and Ponilala (Ermera).

Of the planned 600 km of overhead lines , which will be operated with high voltage , and 120 km of underground cables , 90% had been installed in August 2013. This meant that there was a central electricity supply in 47 administrative offices in the twelve municipalities. In the Special Administrative Region, the exclave Oe-Cusse Ambeno , the Inur-Sacato power plant started operations in 2015. The island of Atauro is to be supplied with electricity by means of a submarine cable .
