Installed capacity and annual production

In 2016, Pakistan was in 35th place in the world with 26.9  GW of installed capacity and 32nd in terms of annual generation with 109.7 billion kWh . The level of electrification was 74% in 2017 (90% in cities and 64% in rural areas). Pakistan was a net importer of electricity in 2016; it imported 490 million kWh.
