Nobelwind , also known as Belwind 2 or Bligh Bank Phase II , is an offshore wind farm in the Belgian exclusive economic zone in the southern North Sea . The wind farm is a supplement of the offshore wind farm Belwind represents, also known as Bligh Bank Phase I is called.

location

The wind farm is located 47 kilometers off the Belgian coast on an area of ​​around 20 km². The water depth there is 26 to 38 m (on average 33 m). The average wind speed here at a height of 90 m is 9.3 m / s.

construction

The foundations began in March 2016. On September 22, 2016, the installation of the foundations was completed. The installation of the wind turbines began at the end of October 2016 . The first electricity was generated in the wind farm from January 2017. On April 3, 2017, the last turbine was installed by the Jan De Nul installation vessel . The park was officially opened in May 2017.

technology

The 50 Vestas V112-3.3 MW wind turbines have a total installed capacity of 165  MW . The generated electrical energy is transported via the submarine cable of the neighboring Northwind offshore wind farm , which has a voltage of 220 kV.

business

Its standard work capacity is 679  GWh - according to other information 651 GWh - per year. This means that the wind farm is supposed to supply 88,000 Belgian households with electricity.

The wind farm is owned by the Japanese company Parkwind and the Dutch investment fund Meewind .
