Oleksandr Ivanovich Bilasch (born March 6, 1931 in Hradysk , Poltava Oblast , Ukrainian SSR , † May 6, 2003 in Kiev ) was a Ukrainian composer and poet.

Life

Oleksandr Bilasch studied accordion from 1948 to 1952 at the WS Kossenko music school in Zhytomyr . From 1950 to 1961 he was a teacher of music theory at the Kiev Pedagogical Institute and graduated from the Music Academy of Ukraine Peter Tchaikovsky in 1957 the composition class. Between 1976 and 1994 he was the chairman of the Kiev branch of the Union of Composers of Ukraine. He was also the first chairman of the Poltava Brotherhood in Kiev. As a composer, he devoted himself to both classical and popular music. Bilasch wrote and composed patriotic, lyrical and humorous songs, ballads, operas, operettas and symphonic works. He died in Kiev and was buried there in the Baikowe cemetery .
