Olena Olefirenko

Olena Iwaniwna Olefirenko ( Ukrainian Олена Іванівна Олефіренко ; born April 11, 1978 in Novojaworiwsk ) is a Ukrainian rower .

She started rowing in 1995. At the World Championships in 2003 she reached fifth place with the double fours . In 2004 she took part in the Olympic Games in Athens , where she was third with Olena Morosowa , Tetjana Kolesnikowa and Jana Dementjewa . However, during the doping control , Olefirenko tested positive for a stimulant , so that the Ukrainians were denied bronze .

In 2007 Olefirenko reached fourth place at the 2007 World Championships with the double foursome. At the European Championships shortly afterwards she won the gold medal with Switlana Spirjuchowa , Natalija Huba and Tetjana Kolesnikowa. In 2008 the Ukrainians came fourth at the Olympic Games in Beijing . At the European Championships in the same year they were able to defend their title in the line-up of Switlana Spirjuchowa, Olena Olefirenko, Natalija Mustafajewa and Tetjana Kolesnikowa. 2010 started Olefirenko at the European Championships with Natalija Mustafajewa in double sculls , with which she reached sixth place.
