Olena Ronschyna

Olena Iwaniwna Ronshyna , after marriage Olena Iwaniwna Morosowa ( Ukrainian Олена Іванівна Ронжина (Морозова) ; born November 18, 1970 in Dnipropetrovsk , Ukrainian SSR ), is a former Ukrainian rower who served in the Soviet Union until 1991 .

Career

Ronschyna finished sixth at the 1990 World Championships with the Soviet eighth . Together with Hanna Motretschko , she competed at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona in a pair without a helmsman for the United Team of the Commonwealth of Independent States , the two achieved eighth place.

From 1993 Ronschyna started for Ukraine, at the 1993 World Championships she finished seventh with the Ukrainian eighth. In 1994 she switched to the double fours , in the line-up of Switlana Masij , Dina Miftachutdynowa , Olena Ronschyna and Tetjana Ustyuschanina , the boat won the bronze medal behind the boats from Germany and China. After a tenth place at the 1995 World Championships , the Ukrainian double scull reached the A-final at the 1996 Olympic Games with a victory in the hope run. Switlana Masij, Dina Miftachutdynowa, Inna Frolowa and Olena Ronschyna won the silver medal three seconds behind the Germans and two hundredths of a second ahead of the Canadians.

With the same line-up, the Ukrainians won bronze at the 1997 World Championships behind the Germans and Danes. After a seventh place at the 1998 World Championships , Jana Kramarenko , Switlana Masij, Tetjana Ustyuschanina and Olena Ronschyna won the silver medal behind the German boat at the 1999 World Championships . For Kramarenko 2000 Dina Miftachutdynowa returned to the double fours, at the Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney the Ukrainians took fourth place.

After a year off competition, Ronschyna started again in 2002 under the name Morosowa. She finished sixth at the 2002 World Championships and fifth at the 2003 World Championships with the double quad . At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , Olena Morosowa, Tetjana Kolesnikowa , Olena Olefirenko and Jana Dementjewa took third place behind the Germans and the British in the final. After Olena Olefirenko tested positive in a doping control, the Ukrainian double foursome was subsequently disqualified, and the bronze medal went to the Australians. In 2005 Olena Morosowa finished fourth again in a double foursome at the World Championships . In 2006 she rowed eighth in the Ukrainian and then ended her sporting career.

The 1.84 m tall Olena Ronshyna (-Morosowa) rowed for Dzerzhinska .
