Olga Petrova ( born Muriel Hardin ; born May 10, 1884 in Liverpool , † November 30, 1977 in Clearwater , Florida ) was an English actress , screenwriter and playwright .

Life

Born Muriel Harding in England , she moved to the United States at a young age and became a star by the stage name Olga Petrova. Petrova began her career in vaudeville before switching to film. Petrova usually played the role of a femme fatale in a number of films for Solax Studios and Metro Pictures . Most of her films are no longer available today. She also wrote numerous scripts.

In the 1920s she wrote three plays and toured the country with a theater company. In 1923 she wrote the drama and also starred in the play Hurricane , which became a huge hit in New York . The play was also staged in Los Angeles and performed with great success until late 1925.

In 1942, she published her autobiography entitled Butter With My Bread .

She died in 1977 at the age of 93. In 1960 she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .
