Olha Parchomenko

Olha Mychajliwna Parchomenko ( Ukrainian Ольга Михайлівна Пархоменко , born April 7, 1928 in Kiev ; † July 5, 2011 there ) was a Ukrainian violinist and teacher.

From 1945 to 1950 she studied at the Kiev Conservatory with David Berthier and continued her studies from 1950 to 1953 at the Moscow Conservatory with Dawid Fyodorowitsch Oistrach .

She took part in the following violin competitions:

Olha Parchomenko taught at the Kiev Conservatory from 1963 to 1982, at the Minsk Conservatory from 1982 and later at the Sibelius Music Academy in Helsinki . She was awarded the honors of Honorary Professor of the Kiev Conservatory and Honored Artist of the Ukrainian Soviet Republic.

Her students include numerous violinists, chamber musicians and concert masters , including Wadim Brodsky .

Parchomenko has performed in Germany, Austria, France, Iceland, Bulgaria, China, Mongolia, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.
