Oliver Bear

Oliver Bear (* 25. January 1977 in Hof ) is a German local politician ( CSU ) and since May 1, 2014 District Administrator of the district court .
education and profession
Bear grew up on a farm in snoring Reuth on. After graduating from high school in Hof and completing basic military service , he studied law at the University of Bayreuth from 1997 to 2002 on a scholarship from the Hanns Seidel Foundation . In 2005 he did his doctorate on "Freedom and plurality of the media according to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union ". After working as a research assistant, he completed a legal clerkship in Bamberg and Berlin . The doctor of law has been a partner in the law firm Labbé und Partner in Munich since 2006 .
Political career
In 1996, Bär was elected to the Berg municipal council for the first time . From 1997 to 2004 he was district chairman of the Junge Union in the district of Hof. In 2005 he ran unsuccessfully on the CSU state list for the Bundestag . From 2002 to 2014 Bär was a member of the Hof district council. He is a district board member of the CSU Upper Franconia. In 2013 he was elected as a district administrator candidate for the CSU Hof.
In the 2014 local elections , Bär received 49.9 percent of the vote in the first ballot, while the SPD candidate Alexander Eberl received 47 percent of the vote. Incumbent Bernd Hering (SPD) was no longer eligible for election after 18 years in office because he had reached the age limit for district administrators at the age of 67. In the runoff election on March 30, 2014, Bär prevailed with 52 percent of the vote, making him the first CSU district administrator in the history of the district. He was re-elected on March 15, 2020.
CSU district office affair
In August 2018, the Hof District Office, led by Oliver Bär, sent out invitations for a CSU election campaign event. Holders of a volunteer card issued by the district office were contacted by email. According to the District Office, " personal data [..] were not passed on to third parties " , as the e-mails were sent from the District Office. District Administrator Oliver Bär announced an internal review of the processes.
Private
Bär has been married to Dorothee Bär since 2006 and is the father of two daughters and a son.
