Oliver Otto (born November 21, 1972 in Kirchheim / Teck ) is a former German soccer player .

career

As a youth, Otto moved from his hometown club TSV Wernau to VfB Stuttgart . In his youth he was twice German A youth champion with VfB Stuttgart and twice German champion with Württemberg. He went through all youth teams of the German national team and made 25 international matches (1 goal) during this time. He made his debut in the Bundesliga against Hamburger SV on September 8, 1993 , where he immediately scored a goal. He then moved to the then regional league team SSV Ulm in 1846 .

With the sparrows Otto succeeded, after winning the German Amateur Championship in 1996 and winning the WFV-Pokal in 1997, in 1998 the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . With 23 games and two goals, he played a major role in the surprising breakthrough into the Bundesliga. There he was the field player with the most missions with 33 missions together with Oliver Unsöld . He also hit the opposing goal twice. After relegation he remained loyal to the club and came to 32 second division games and two goals.

After the SSV Ulm crashed into the amateur camp, Otto tried abroad and went to the Greek club Akratitos Ano Liosia in the Alpha Ethniki . With eleventh place in the Greek league, the best placement in the history of the club was achieved. Nevertheless, he returned to Germany after the end of the season and signed with SV Waldhof Mannheim . There he was only used sporadically and was relegated with the club from the second division.

Then Otto moved to Borussia Fulda in the Oberliga Hessen and, as third in the table, only just missed promotion to the regional league. After the club was refused the license for the following season, Otto returned to Swabian and signed with SSV Reutlingen 05 , which was playing in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg at the time . With the club he was promoted to the Regionalliga Süd in 2006 , where he was one of the regular players.

In summer 2008 Otto moved to his home club VfL Kirchheim / Teck in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. There he started with 1 point on the 8th matchday and in the end reached a sensational 48 points, still 10th, level with the seventh in the table.

Oliver Otto is a sports and gymnastics teacher , coordination trainer, relaxation teacher and event manager. He is married and has two daughters. In February 2013 he made the DFB-A license as a football coach in Cologne. Since 2013 he has been Head of Education at VfB Stuttgart 1893 eV
