Oliver Simon (* 1975 in East Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

Oliver Simon first studied theater studies at the Humboldt University . From 1998 to 2002 he completed his acting studies at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin , where he worked with Peter Zadek .

He then had his first permanent engagement at the Schauspiel Köln . From 2004, he was a member of the independent theater company “flying fishes” for five years. a. toured India and Nepal for eight months , playing in flower shops and giving acting workshops for young people in Germany. Oliver Simon had guest engagements at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin and the Theater Baden-Baden, among others .

From 2010 to 2017 Oliver Simon was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Braunschweig . There he stepped u. a. as Georg in Ein Volksfeind , as Wurm in Kabale und Liebe , as Luftgeist Ariel in Shakespeare's late work Der Sturm , each directed by Daniela Löffner , as Gregers Werle in Die Wildente (director: Stephan Rottkamp ) and as George Deever in Arthur Miller's play All my sons (Director: Martin Nimz ) on.

In 2014 he was involved in the German- Romanian theater project “Erdbeerwaisen” (“Căpşunile şi Orfanii”), which addressed the wealth gap between East and West within the European Union . Simon embodied a Romanian grandfather who tells of his daughter who went to the West. With the production he appeared at the Marin Sorescu National Theater in Craiova and at the Braunschweig State Theater.

Oliver Simon has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Dresden State Theater since the 2017/18 season .

Occasionally Oliver Simon stood in front of the camera for small film and television roles. In the Dresden Tatort: ​​Who is now alone , which was first broadcast in May 2018, had a brief appearance as an employee of a dating portal.

Oliver Simon lives together with the theater director Daniela Löffner in Dresden .
