Joke machine

Joke machine

The joke machine is a chewing gum machine that has been converted by Tissot . In the capsules for 20 cents there is a note with a joke or a pun. Tissot bought the former chewing gum machine and bought suitable plastic capsules from a vending machine wholesaler. He rebuilt the machine himself and painted it red and white. All together cost him 200 euros. The joke machine hangs on the wall of the cabaret artist at Günthersbühler Strasse 15 in Nuremberg (behind the natural garden pool).

On the corner of the house, a three-dimensional smiley with the speech bubble HAHA! towards the machine. The 200 jokes come mainly from the Internet and are printed on small, colorful, multi-fold pieces of paper with a smiling face. The probability of getting two jokes of the same kind is therefore very small. The writing on the pieces of paper is kept quite small. Before Christmas, the machine was filled with new Christmas and winter jokes.

The joke machine received media coverage. First, on July 23, 2018, Bayerischer Rundfunk reported on what is probably the world's first machine of this type. In the following days there were further articles in newspapers, on online protals, in social media and on Franconian TV. A dpa report written at the beginning of December was also included in the national press.
