Olivier Caillas (born December 2, 1977 in Homburg ) is a German - French soccer player and soccer coach .
Career
Born and raised in Saarland, the son of a French and a German came to FC 08 Homburg via SV Blickweiler , where he played from youth to the regional league team. After he had made 23 appearances there in two years, but had not played a season, he moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken . There he established himself in the third highest league and made the leap into the 2nd Bundesliga with FCS 2000 as a regional league champion . Caillas decided, however, to move to second division rivals Alemannia Aachen .
From 2002 he then played for SpVgg Greuther Fürth , where he was an integral part of the team and was also more dangerous from his midfield position. In 2005 he ventured to France for a year to the local second division club Grenoble Foot 38 , where he did not feel particularly comfortable, even if he was a regular there. Therefore he returned to Fürth for the 2006/07 season.
In June 2007, the contract with Fürth was dissolved and he moved to the second division SV Wehen Wiesbaden free of charge . However, he was unable to assert himself there and left after half a year. From January 24, 2008 he was under contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf and for one and a half years there was an integral part of the starting eleven, first in the Regionalliga Nord and, after qualifying for the newly introduced single-track 3rd division, also in this division. In 2009 he reached promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club, but after returning to the second highest division he had to fight again for his place in the team. At the end of the 2009/10 season he was informed that his contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf would not be extended.
In the 2010/11 season Caillas was in the squad of the third division club FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt , for which he made his debut on August 28, 2010 under coach Stefan Emmerling in the game against SV Babelsberg 03 and in which he made 30 more this season Male stood on the pitch and scored 3 goals. The following year he mostly had to help out as a left defender, but also had his regular place there. In April 2012, he announced that he would no longer renew his expiring contract after the 2011/12 season.
On June 24, 2012 Caillas signed a contract with FC Schalke 04 , for whose second team he played in the Regionalliga West . He made his debut for his new club on August 4, 2012 on the first day of the game against FC Kray . He scored his first goal for Schalke in the game against Sportfreunde Lotte . After the 2013/14 season he ended his high-class career and worked in the marketing department of FC Schalke 04 until 2015. Since 2015 he has been working for Nike Germany.
Caillas also has the DFB A football license. From June 2014 to June 2016 he was player-coach at TuS Bösinghoven (since July 1, 2015: TSV Meerbusch ) in the Oberliga Niederrhein . He currently plays in the traditional team of FC Schalke 04.
