Ololygon angrensis ( synonym : Scinax angrensis ) is a neotropical frog from the subfamily knick-toe tree frogs withinthe tree frog family . Within the genus Scinax , the species according to Faivovich et al. (2005)countedto the Scinax catharinae clade. In 2016 this clade was raised to the genus Ololygon .

Pombal & Bastos (1996) placed the species in the genus Scinax .

distribution

This endemic species in Brazil only comes from Mangaratiba in the state of Rio de Janeiro to Picinguaba in the state of São Paulo at altitudes of up to 800 m above sea level. NN before.

Habitat and Ecology

Ololygon angrensis inhabits primary forest , maybe also secondary forest . Reproductive waters of the species range from permanent running waters to man-made pools, although the species has not yet been found outside the forest or near human settlements. The species reproduces in permanent or temporary streams, small, temporary pools next to forest streams, and less often in stony pools. The tadpoles feed on algae , protozoa , rotifers , very small crustaceans , nematodes , detritus and fungal hyphae .

Danger

The IUCN lists Ololygon angrestis as “ Least Concern ” as Scinax angrensis , although its estimated potential distribution is only 5000 km² and the population trend is declining. The editors justify the classification by stating that the species is still common and that its habitat is not acutely endangered at the moment. In addition, Ololygon angrensis occurs in some protected areas. Deforestation mainly endangers the species.
