Olubayo Adefemi (born August 13, 1985 in Lagos , † April 18, 2011 in Kavala , Greece ) was a Nigerian football player who was most recently under contract with the Greek first division club Skoda Xanthi .

Career

Adefemi started his career at Bendel Insurance , a Nigerian football club based in Benin City . In 2008 he moved to Rapid Bucharest in Romania , where he made his debut in the top division on September 28, 2008 against FC Argeş Piteşti . After only half a year in Bucharest , the Nigerian moved to Austria to SCR Altach , where he signed a contract in January 2009, but Adefemi was not used because he was not allowed to play.

In summer 2009 he left Austria and signed with the US Boulogne .

Adefemi won the silver medal with Nigeria at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . In the games he was used five times and was able to score one goal.

Adefemi died in a car accident on April 18, 2011. According to the Greek police, he had lost control of his vehicle on the highway between Xanthi and Saloniki , where he wanted to clarify the final details about his upcoming wedding.
