The 5 km race in track cycling at the 1908 Olympic Games in London took place from 17 to 18 July at the White City Stadium instead.

Each nation was entitled to up to 12 starting places. The time limit for the race was 9 minutes and 25 seconds. The competition took place in two rounds (semifinals and finals). In the semi-finals there were seven runs, from which the respective winner qualified for the final, provided that he had not exceeded the time limit.

In the final, the Brit Benjamin Jones was able to secure the Olympic victory.
