Omahyra Mota

Omahyra Mota or sometimes simply Omahyra (other spellings: Omyhra Mota and Omarah Mota ), born Omahyra Mota Garcia (born November 30, 1984 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican supermodel and actress . She made a name for herself as the “chic punk des punk” model.

biography

Mota moved to New York with her mother, grandmother, two sisters and brother when she was ten because her mother wanted her to have a better life and to study in better schools. Her mother had also got it into her head that one day she would work as a model and therefore constantly urged her to send application photos to model agencies. Her mother told her every day that one day she would be famous. She was first discovered by Boss Models at the age of 6 and has been a model ever since. With the two models Mayana Moura and Isabel Ibsen , she founded the punk band OMI , which was disbanded as Mayana to Brazil went to study there.

Work as a model

Mota worked as a model for designers such as Chris Aire , Bill Blass , Cynthia Steffe , Fendi , Nina Ricci , Sean John , Baby Phat , Heatherette , Jean-Paul Gaultier and Roca Wear . Gwen Stefani had them flown in specially for New York Fashion Week 2005 by LAMB .

Work as an actress

Mota has had small responsible roles in a few films. Her first role was in Brett Ratner's After the Sunset . Then she appeared in State Property 2 in 2004 . Recently, Mota attracted attention by taking on the role of Arclight in the X-Men 3 movie, X-Men: The Last Stand .

In 2001, at the age of 16, she was voted one of the Most Beautiful 50 People by Paper Magazine . She appeared in Jay-Z's music video "Change Clothes". * Her measurements are 33-25-35. She wears size 4 dresses and size 9 shoes (US measurements!). Her measurements are 89 cm at the hips and 62 cm at the waist. She has a chest size of 85 cm.
