Omiécourt is a commune déléguée in the northern French commune Hypercourt with 258 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Somme department in the Hauts-de-France region .

geography

The place is located in Santerre about four kilometers east of Chaulnes on the departmental roads D1017 (formerly Route nationale 19 ) and D142. The disused railway line from Saint-Just-en-Chaussée to Douai runs through the area.

history

Omiécourt received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Hyencourt-le-Grand , Omiécourt and Pertain were merged and have since formed the Commune nouvelle Hypercourt . The municipality of Omiécourt belonged to the Arrondissement of Péronne and the canton of Chaulnes .
