Ondřej Smetana ( [onˈdrʲej ˈsmɛtana] ; born September 4, 1982 in Ostrava ) is a former Czech football player and today's coach .
Career
The right-footed striker spent the first nine years of his professional career in various clubs in the first three leagues in the Czech Republic , before moving to Belgium and finally Germany from 2010 via Slovakia . There he signed a one-year contract with third division club Hansa Rostock in June 2012, initially on loan from Belgian VV St. Truiden ; a purchase option was also agreed. Smetana then played for Hansa in 25 games in which he scored a total of eight goals. In addition, he was voted third division player of the month in September and October 2012 and ultimately took second place in the third division player of the year election. After a brief stint in the first division of Cyprus, the third division club SV Elversberg signed him for the second half of the season. This was followed by a season at Fotbal Třinec and in summer 2015 the move to Union Neuhofen / Ybbs in Austria .
Trainer
Since 2018 Smetana has been coach of the Czech third division club FC Odra Petřkovice with a short break .
