history

Many places in the Schönbacher Ländchen were founded by the Waldsassen monastery , which Rüdiger von Sparneck acquired in 1348 . From the middle of the 19th century, Abtsroth formed a community in the judicial district of Wildstein or district of Eger .

In 1939 Abtsroth counted 877 inhabitants with the districts of Egetten, Fünfhaus and Leibitschgrund. Between 1938 and 1945 the community was part of the German district of Eger . In 1960 it was incorporated into Luby.
