The Isaurian Ragwurz ( Ophrys isaura ) is a plant from the genus of Ragwurzen ( Ophrys ) in the family of orchid (Orchidaceae). It is also classified as a subspecies by some authors: Ophrys scolopax subsp. isaura (Renz & Taubenheim) HAPedersen & PJCribb .
features
This herbaceous perennial plant reaches heights of 50 cm. The sepals appear mostly green but can also be reddish or red in color. The lateral petals are whitish-pink. The basal calluses appear blackish. It blooms in May.
Location and distribution
These can be found in pine or oak forests with calcareous soils at an altitude of 800 to 1200 meters above sea level. This plant species occurs in southern Anatolia , but a find was also noted near Gülnar in Isauria .
relationship
According to some authors, this species is one of the different races of the Schnepfen-Ragwurz ( Ophrys scolopax ). As long as this relationship has not yet been clearly clarified, it forms an independent species.
