Oppen-Haal or Haal-Oppen is a southern district of Würselen in the Aachen city region . To the north is Würselen-Mitte and to the east is the Kaninsberg industrial park at Aachener Kreuz. To the south lie the Kaninsberg and the Ravelsberg.

history

In 1449 a noble Adam von Hall-Frankenberg was besieged in his house; this House Hall was most likely in Haal. In 1800, under French rule, the Mairie de Wurselen in the canton of Burtscheid was formed from the previous four districts of Würselen, Scherberg , Schweilbach and Morsbach . The Commune Würselen at that time consisted of Drisch, Haal (or: Hahl) and Oppen, who had belonged to the Weiden district until 1798, as well as Würselen, Bissen, Elchenrath and Grevenberg. In 1816, Würselen and thus Oppen-Haal came to the Aachen district .

Today's twin city district is located in the triangle Haaler Strasse / Oppener Strasse / A 4 .
